CLOUDIFIN is a cloud computing site managed by the Department of Computational Physics and Information Technology (DFCTI), IFIN-HH. It provides resources and services for researchers, research groups and research communities, in the domains of nuclear physics, condensed matter physics (including nanophysics), computational biology, etc. The site is fully integrated into the EGI's Federated Cloud and contributes to the EOSC infrastructure.
RESOURCES
Processing capacity: more than 1,000 CPU cores with an average of 4GB RAM per vCPU. Customized setups can be provided. GPU Nvidia K80 can be made available upon request.
Storage capacity: 128 TB in RAID, available through OpenStack Cinder. Custom size data blocks are available.
Internal connectivity: Infiniband FDR or EDR; Ethernet up to 10 Gbps.
Internet bandwidth: 10 Gbps for VMs. The datacenter is connected to the NREN at 100Gbps.
Public addresses: a pool of 60 IPv4 and a class of /64 IPv6 are available for VMs.
SERVICES
CLOUDIFIN offers development tools, data storage services, custom virtual machines, databases, advanced networking interconnect, and also a series of preconfigured operating systems with customized scientific software and access to scientific libraries.
Storage data is available at any time for free download and is protected from loss during the computing project.
The solutions provided are targeted both to the scientific and business communities, offering a series of benefits, among which efficiency, increased performance, cost saving and security.
The infrastructure is perfectly adapted for serving HPC over Cloud, the users enjoying technologies such as MPI, CUDA, Machine Learning, etc.
USER ACCESS
You can apply any time for resources to support your computing project.
International users can request acces to CLOUDIFIN through the EGI Cloud interface.
Also, (inter)national users can request acces by uploading their computing proposals to IFIN-HH's User Office.
You can always contact our support centre if you have any questions or are not certain how to proceed. We'll be happy to help you.
